Slušovice

Slušovice ( German Sluschowitz ) is a city in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers north east of Zlín in the Dřevnice and belongs to Okres Zlín.

Geography

The city is located in the transition of the host 's mountains to Vizovice mountain country on both sides of Dřevnice between the mouths of the Trnavka and Všeminka. North of town is the drinking water reservoir Slušovice in which the Dřevnice is jammed. By Slušovice the state road 491 from Fryšták leads to State Road 49

Neighboring towns are Březova and Nové Dvory in the north, Neubuz in the northeast, Chrastěšov in the east, and Raková Vizovice the southeast, Zádveřice in the south, Vesela in the southwest, Hvozdná in the west and Ostrata in the northwest.

History

The first documentary mention as Sluschowicz dates from the year 1261st The place was seat of the noble family ze Slušovic. 1373 bought Schultze von Sternberg rule Slušovice with the villages Dešná, Neubuz and Všemina by the brothers of Sarov and united it with the rule Lukov. 1407 Slussowicz was first described as a market. 1424 found at Slušovice the battle between the troops of the Olomouc Bishop John XII.
