History

The association was created in 1977 by the merger of departments Hockey Sollefteå IK and Långsele AIF. The team played during the first eight years of its existence under the name IK Polar, before the present name was adopted Sollefteå HK. The association could make first nationwide attention to himself when he played in the then still second-class Division 1 1984-1991. Since the turn of the millennium the team meets regularly in the now third-rate Division 1.
