Sollers-Isuzu

ZAO Sollers - Isuzu ( ЗАО Соллерс - Исузу ) is a commercial vehicle manufacturer with headquarters in ALABUGA, Russia. The company was founded in 2007 as a joint venture between OAO Sollers, which will contribute with a share of 66 percent, the Isuzu JIDOSHA kk, which participates with a share of 29 percent, and the Sojitz kk, which, with a share involved of 5 per cent, was founded. Until the General Meeting of Shareholders on 11 January 2010, the company was named ZAO Severstal - Isuzu ( ЗАО Северстальавто - Исузу ). Establishing an investment of 350 million rubles was applied. The company management is subordinate to the Chief Executive Officer Franz Gerhard Hilgert.

As early as 2002 built Sollers the Isuzu AUV as a Russian version of the Isuzu Panther. However, the model had only moderate success and was unable to assert, with sales of just 780 units per year. Due to the low price, most of the units produced at Sollers were exported to the Philippines and marketed there. In the spring of 2009, production of the AUV was then set completely. As a replacement, the Isuzu C- Series, Isuzu E-Series, as well as the Isuzu N- series were introduced a few months later. With the new model program, the production of the Japanese brand in Russia has increased to 25,000 units per year. According to announcements made by the plant, the production will be doubled for a plant expansion in the coming years.
