South Africa Davis Cup team
The South African Davis Cup team is the national team of South Africa Tennis. The Davis Cup is the most important competition for national teams in men's tennis, similar to the Fed Cup for the women.
History
Since 1913 South Africa participates in the Davis Cup and played four times in the World Group. In 1974, the South African team won the Cup since final opponents India did not compete in protest against the apartheid policy of South Africa. The most successful player is Wayne Ferreira with a total of 41 wins, a record player is Frew McMillan with 28 participants.
