St John's Wood tube station

St. John 's Wood is an underground station of the London Underground in the City of Westminster. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 2, at the intersection of Wellington Road and Acacia Road. The station served by the Jubilee Line station was used in 2011 of 6.74 million passengers. In the vicinity are the Lord's Cricket Ground and Abbey Road Studios.

The opening of the station took place on 20 November 1939. After an additional, parallel running tunnels had been built, transferred to the underground operation on the Stanmore branch line of the Metropolitan Line on the Bakerloo Line to relieve the former and at the same time can accelerate. St. John 's Wood replaced two stations nearby that had been opened in 1868, Lord's and Marlborough Road. Originally, the station should have been given the name Acacia. On 1 May 1979 the operation of the Bakerloo Line was transferred to the newly opened Jubilee Line.
