Geography
The area covered 70% of the forest district of Stackelitz in the High Flaming extends from the border to Brandenburg to the headwaters of the southern Nuthe. Stackelitz between Dessau and Wiesenburg / Mark in 2005 declared Natural Park Flaming whose information center is located in the neighboring Jeber mountain peace. History
The first mention of the town dates back to 1213 and since 1299 Stackelitz Zerbst belonged to the nunnery.
Probably also dating from the 13th century, the resulting stone church, which is surrounded by the village cemetery. The four spacious church has apse, chancel, nave and a baroque ridge turret, whose western side sits on the massive gable wall. The roof skylights replaced the original bell tower, which had been damaged during the Thirty Years' War. 1980 the tower received a curly hood, which is covered with slate.
On 1 July 2007, the municipality Stackelitz was incorporated in the district of Wittenberg as a result of the district reform of the former district of Anhalt -Zerbst. On 1 January 2010, until then independent municipality was incorporated together with the community Bräsen in the city Coswig (Anhalt).
Wüstung Schleesen
