Stanley Burrell (basketball)

Dewayne Stanley Burrell Jr. ( born September 16, 1984 in Indianapolis, Indiana ) is an American professional basketball player. After completing his studies in his home country Burrell first played at KK Bosna and in the NBA Development League (D -League ) before he again went to Europe in 2009 and played in Belgium and Poland. In the season 2012/13 Burrell played in the German Basketball Bundesliga for the polar bears Bremerhaven, before joining Royal Halı Gaziantep to the following season in the Türkiye Ligi Basketbol.

Career

After high school graduation Burrell went first to the preparation of the study on the " Prep School " Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham (Virginia) 2004, he enrolled at Xavier University of Cincinnati in Ohio, where he was the for the high school team Musketeers in Atlantic 10 Conference ( A- 10) of the NCAA played. The Musketeers were among the most successful basketball teams in the A-10 and were once in Burrell's season to win the championship tournament of the Conference. The Polar Bears, who had again missed in the preseason for the first time in two years the Championship play-offs, also could not improve during the season and had to fight to avoid relegation. After the league was reached, they parted and Burrell signed a contract in Turkey at Royal Halı from Gaziantep for Türkiye Basketbol Ligi 2013/14.
