The Stanowoigebirge, also Stanowojgebirge, (Russian Становой хребет, scientific transliteration Stanovoj Chrebet ) is a high-rise to 2412 m high mountain in the Federal District of the Russian Far East.

Location

The 700 km long mountain range is located as part of the South Siberian mountains on the southern border of the Republic of Sakha ( Yakutia) to Amur Oblast. It rises about 570 km to the south of the Lena knee. The Stanowoigebirge, where the river Aldan springs is largely limited to the north by Aldanhochland. In the southeast there is a 2020 m high mountain range and connection of the Valley of Seja, where the Zeya Dam and the town of Zeya are, among others, in the Dschagdygebirge above and to the southwest in the Tukuringragebirge.

Drainage

By Stanowoigebirge runs a part of the watershed between the Arctic Ocean and the Pacific. By the year 1858, the border between Russia and China was on the crest of the mountain, which is called by the Chinese to Today " appearance Hinggan Mountains" (外 兴安岭Wai Ling Xing'an ).

Traffic

The railway crosses the Stanowoigebirge in the middle part, north Tynda, with a twisty route section of the Amur - Yakut Magistrale ( AJAM ), the pass at about 1040 m above sea level. NN by 1300 m long summit tunnel ( Nagorny tunnel) is overcome.
