Steffen Driesen

Steffen Driesen ( born November 30, 1981 in Sea bush ) is a German swimmer.

Career

Its main location is the backstroke. Driesen trained at Henning Lambertz at SG Bayer Wuppertal / Uerdingen / Dormagen together with Sarah Poewe and Daniela Samulski. He also studied at the University of Applied Sciences Niederrhein.

Achievements

  • Nine titles at the German Swimming Championships since 1999 ( 50, 100, 200 meter backstroke )
  • Finalist in the 100 meters backstroke at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney (Rank 7)
  • Silver medal at the 2001 World Championships in Fukuoka in the 4x100 -meter medley relay, bronze in the 100m backstroke
  • Silver medal at the 2003 European Championships Short Course 200m backstroke, bronze in the 100m backstroke
  • Silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens in the 4x100 -meter medley relay in a European record time, seventh in the 100 meters back
