Stéphane Auvray

Stéphane Auvray ( born September 4, 1981 in Les Abymes, Guadeloupe ) is a French football player. He currently plays for Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer. The midfielder is also captain of the football team of Guadeloupe.

Career

Association

Auvray is from the Caribbean island of Grande- Terre, which belongs to the French Overseas Territory Guadeloupe. At the age of 14, he emigrated to France. There he played in the youth teams of SM Caen. From 1999 to 2001 he played for the second team in the Championnat de France amateur.

In 2002 he moved to the amateur club GSI Pontivy. There he remained for two years before moving to Vannes OC 2004. With the team he played in the Championnat National and abolished in 2008 promotion to the Ligue 2

In 2009, he played for six months at Nîmes Olympique. He left the club in December 2009 for personal reasons.

Since January 2010, he plays for Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer.

National

His debut for Guadeloupe, he gave in 2007. During the same year, he was part of the team that reached the semifinals at the CONCACAF Gold Cup. When CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009, he acted as captain of the team.
