Stéphane Guivarc'h

Stéphane Guivarc'h ( born September 6, 1970 in Concarneau ) is a former French footballer.

Club career

The prolific but injury-prone striker began and ended his time at two clubs (Brest, Guingamp ) from his home region of Brittany, and returned there in between back ( Rennes). Even if he did playing with Guingamp Brest and a total of three years in the second and another only in the 3rd league, he nevertheless came to a total of 160 games in France's top tier, Division 1, and scored 71 goals. In 1997 and 1998 he was the highest scorer in the French league. With Auxerre he won the Double in 1996 ( national champion and cup winner ); there were added later ten inserts in the UEFA Cup, in which Guivarc'h scored seven goals. Less successful was his short trip to the English Premier League ( 4 inserts, 1 goal ); with the Glasgow Rangers, he was, however, promptly Scottish champion (14 games, 5 hits ) and League Cup winners.

Since 2007, Stéphane Guivarc'h coach of the first men's team of U.S. Trégunc, an amateur club from the located near his birthplace of Concarneau in Brittany Trégunc, with which he went up to 2012 three times already. He has also taken over the office of President with this club in late 2012.

The National Players

Between 1997 and 1999, played Stéphane Guivarc'h total of 14 times in the Équipe Tricolore, but there only scored one goal. With the Football World Cup 1998, he played six of seven games and was ( until 66 minutes ) in the victorious Finalelf so that the world title certainly was his greatest success.
