Steve Mahre

Steve Mahre ( born May 10, 1957 in Yakima, Washington ) is a former American alpine skier.

He was active along with his twin brother Phil in the FIS World Cup in the 1980s. He won in his career 9 World Cup races ( 2 times in the Giant Slalom, 6 times in the slalom and 1 time in the combination ). At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo, he won silver in the slalom behind his brother. His greatest achievement was winning the giant slalom World Champion title in 1982 in Schladming. The brothers Mahre operate today in Park City, Utah, a Training Center.
