Strømmen Idrettsforening is a Norwegian football club from Strømmen.
History
Strømmen IF goes back to the Strømmen Fotballklubb founded in 1911, who then took in 1945 with Strømmen Idrettslag merged and the new name.
Strømmen IF won his second league 1949 season and sat by in the promotion round. In the Hovedserien the team initially played most of the time against relegation. In the season 1953/54 the club finished in second place behind his Erstligastaffel Fredrikstad FK, the entry into the championship final was missed by one point. The following year, the club got off, but returned directly with twelve wins in 14 games against Lyn Oslo back. As in the season before the descent managed second place in the top division of the country, accompanied by the semi-finals of the national cup. This time held the club until the renewed decline in 1961 in the league.
Strømmen IF was after relegation victim of a league reform and was passed as a table fourth in the third league. The chances of promotion followed directly the re descent. Subsequently, the club established in the third division before he was passed in 1971 in the fourth league.

After five defeats in Serie achieved Strømmen IF only in the 4-1 away win at Molde FK his first win of the season in the season 1986. 1992 Strømmen IF qualified for the promotion round to the Tippeligaen, behind Hamarkameratene and Drøbak / Frogn IL missed the team 's re-emergence. In the following season the club in 1998 rose again in the third league in the fourth league from. 2007 returned to the club back in the third division. The club played there first against relegation, the team in 2009 won their third league season and rose to the second-class Adecco Ligaen.
