Stroud (District)

Stroud is a District in the county of Gloucestershire in England. Council is based in Stroud; significant sights are Dursley, Nailsworth and Wotton -under-Edge.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the urban districts Nailsworth and Stroud, the Rural Districts Dursley and Stroud Rural District and parts of Gloucester, Sodbury and Thornbury.
