Å trpce

Štrpce ( Serbian Cyrillic Штрпце; Albanian Shtërpca or Shtërpcë ) is a small town in the commune of the same name on the northern slope of the mountain Šar Planina in the south of Kosovo. The municipality is one of about three kilometers south west of the Štrpce place Brezovica, who was an important winter sports center in the former Yugoslavia.

Population

Štrpce has about 13630 inhabitants, according to the OSCE Mission in Kosovo. Of these, 67 % are (9100) Serbs, 33 % ( 4500 ) Albanians and 0.2 % (30 ) Roma. The village has a population density of 60 inhabitants per km2. Recently, a slight increase of the population is observed.

The place is guarded by Ukrainian KFOR soldiers.
