History

The mid-1860s planned the royal Württemberg railway administration, a railway line from Stuttgart to Calw. This should branch off in Feuerbach or Zuffenhausen of the Northern Railway and run by the Strohgäu to Leonberg. In 1865 the state legislature decided to run over Zuffenhausen. For the community, because in the village, this decision had a negative effect. The course touched only the north-western district.

The closest station was in almost two kilometers away in Korntal. Its inauguration took place on 23 September 1868. Since Because in the village, however, significantly more residents counted as Korntal, the train station, the term grain Thal -Weil received from time to time in the village or from 1904 Korntal- Because in the village. About the Ludwig Strasse (today Solitudestraße ) or the Bahnhofweg (now Karl- Frey -Straße) was reached to him.

In the years 1913 and 1914 produced designs for a line of Stuttgart suburb tram, which should lead by Feuerbach Because in the village to Gerlingen. However, due to disputes on the route and the outbreak of the First World War, the project could not be realized. In May 1962 the Stuttgart City Council in 1957 commissioned General Transport Plan was presented. The transport expert Professor Walther Lambert developed a transport concept for the state capital and its environs. His design also took into account Weilimdorf - its spelling was changed in 1955. On the Black Forest Railway, between the stations and Korntal Ditzingen, a new breakpoint for the Municipality should arise.

From the late 1960s, an industrial area was established along the railway line. In the late 1980s established the Federal Railways, as conceived by Lambert, a new breakpoint. This was passed with the dazugehörendem park-and -ride system on December 3, 1988 its determination.
