Sun Shuwei

Sun Shuwei (Chinese孙淑伟, Pinyin Sun Shuwei, born January 21, 1976 in Jieyang ) is a former Chinese diver. He started in the 10 - m tower and synchronized diving. In 1992, he was from the Tower Olympic champion, he also won two world titles.

Sun Shuwei came up with eight years on a sports special school, where he learned the water jumping professionally. In 1989, at age 13, he was admitted to the Chinese national team. In the Asian Games 1990 in Beijing won Sun Shuwei gold from the tower and thus its first international medal. Even in his first World Cup in 1991 in Perth, he won the 10 m tower for the title. The following year he took part in the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. He won from the tower with a clear lead the gold medal. At the World Championships in Rome in 1994 Sun Shuwei again won a medal, this time silver behind Dmitri Sautin. In addition, he was able to defend his title at the Asian Games in Hiroshima. Participation in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta missed Sun Shuwei illness. In the 1998 World Cup in Perth, he started with Tian Liang in the inaugural synchronized diving and won again World Championship gold. In 2001, he ended his active career.

Sun Shuwei coached 2008, the Chinese Olympic team.
