Surfer Rosa is the first studio album by the American indie rock band Pixies. It was published on 21 March 1988 4AD.

Style and Aftermath

Surfer Rosa set a counterpoint to the then successful genres glam metal and sleaze rock and inspired with the native appearance of the band, the then new high / low volume change between verse and chorus, and Black Francis ' idiosyncratic singing numerous other musicians. Another special feature is the shortness of the tracks from partially under two minutes and produced by Steve Albini the " drum sound, which sets standards in its force to this day ." Where Is My Mind? became known to a wider audience through the use of in David Fincher film Fight Club. David Bowie coverte the song Cactus, M.I.A. samplete Where Is My Mind? in her song $ 20.
