Geography

Geographical Location

The locations of the municipality are the Voreifel, approximately between Bonn and Euskirchen. Swisttal got its name from the stream called Swist which flows through the municipal area in the middle. The areas are located at altitudes between 126 m and 187 m. The municipality is located between the villages Ludendorf and vinegar.

Expansion of the municipal area

History

The municipality was created on August 1, 1969 as part of the municipal restructuring in North Rhine -Westphalia. The previously independent municipalities Buschhoven, vinegar, Heimerzheim, Ludendorff, Miel, Morenhoven, Odendorf and Ollheim and the native of the district Euskirchen community Straßfeld were disbanded and went with their management in the new municipality Swisttal on. Pilgrimage
