The Sydney Bears are an Australian semi-professional ice hockey team from Penrith, New South Wales was founded in 2000 and plays in the Australian Ice Hockey League.

History

Together with the Canberra Knights and Adelaide Avalanche founded the Bears 2000, the Australian Ice Hockey League. So far, twice won the Bears, who still played until 2007 when Sydney Bears in the Sydney Ice Arena in Baulkham Hills, north-west of Sydney, the Goodall Cup, received by the Australian champion. The success of 2002, they were able to repeat 2007. Before the 2007 season, the team in the western suburb of Sydney, Penrith moved, and emphasized "Sydney" from the name. In the 2008 season, they also won the regular season earned them VIP Cup. For the 2010 season the team took back to their original names Sydney Bears.
