Taco (musician)
Taco Ockerse ( born July 21, 1955 in Jakarta ) is a Dutch pop singer who is best known for his cover version of Irving Berlin hits Puttin 'on the Ritz. He has Dutch parents and grew up in the Netherlands, the USA, Singapore, Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium, in Brussels, where he made his 1973 graduation. Career
Beginning
As of 1975, Taco ensemble member Thalia Theater (Hamburg). In 1979 he played in Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story Chino under John Neumeier. In late 1979, he formed his own band under the name Taco's Bizz and went on tour. In 1981 he got his first record deal with Polydor.
