Tagavere ( German Tackfer ) is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Taebla ( Taebla vald ). It is in the west- Estonian county Läänemaa.

Description and History

The village has 34 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) .. It is 14 kilometers north-east of the district capital Haapsalu ( Haapsalu ).

The village was first mentioned in records in 1427 under the name Tackever.

Since 1493 the manor of Tagavere is occupied. Last owner before the expropriation in the course of the Estonian land reform in 1919 was the aristocratic Baltic German family Ungern- Sternberg.
