Take the Long Way Home - Live in Montreal is the first live DVD of the British Pop-/Rockmusikers Roger Hodgson, the former founding and longtime member of the British band Supertramp Pop-/Rockgruppe. She was particularly taken at a concert in Montreal, Canada on 6 June 2006 and published six years after the studio album "Open the Door" on 28 August 2006. In Canada, the DVD has sold very well, and she also appeared in other States on 14 September 2007 and has also been successfully marketed.

Description

The live DVD was during Hodgson's tour on 6 June 2006 at a concert in the metropolis of Montreal, the second largest city in Canada and the largest Quebec province, added. Location of the show was the standing in the Downtown Event Center Place des Arts. On this tour, Hodgson was - since the last Supertramp tour with him in 1983 - the first time in concerts in Canada.

"Take the Long Way Home - Live in Montreal" was initially published by the label DEP / Universal Canada on August 28, 2006 only in Canada. They became the platinum DVD in just 7 weeks, and quickly gained double platinum status. After this success, and the insistence of many fans, the DVD released by Eagle Vision with something different cover and additional bonus material on 14 September 2007 also in many other states.

In concert acted Roger Hodgson ( acoustic guitar, keyboards and piano), who sang all the songs with his famous falsetto by vocals, only with his from London (Ontario, Canada) next friend Aaron MacDonald (keyboards, clarinet, melodica, harmonica and saxophone), who acted partly as a background singer.

The concert part of the DVD features with good picture and sound quality among other Supertramp classics such as "Take the Long Way Home ", " Give a Little Bit ", " The Logical Song ", " Breakfast in America ", " Dreamer ", " It's Raining Again "and" School "and a few songs from Hodgson's solo career, including the previously unreleased " Oh Brother ( Keep the Pigeons warm) ". The special feature is the ease of performance without pompous stage and without great light game. While the Montreal concert Hodgson staged with his guest musicians MacDonald an impressive atmosphere to enthusiastic audiences. The songs are just as exploited as they once were composed by him - without bass and electric guitar, and without drums: only with acoustic guitar, piano and keyboard as the main instruments.

As bonus material from a concert of the Nokia -night -of -the- Proms tour of 2004, the song "Dreamer" and small snippets of the songs " The Logical Song " and " Fool 's Overture " is available. These three works have been played by Hodgson and a classical orchestra including choir. The picture quality is bad but here.

Other extras include (for example, with subtitles in German ): photographs of the " sound check", recordings of audience impressions ( ' fans ' impressions '), and backstage shots ( " backstage pass" ), a "photo gallery", two interviews ("A conversation with Roger "and" Montreal interview " ) and" Roger's repertoire " ( Hodgson collection of songs ).
