In the Eye of the Storm ( The Eye of the Storm ), the first studio album by the British Pop-/Rockmusikers Roger Hodgson, the founding member of the British band Supertramp is was. His solo debut album was released in 1984 and sold well in Switzerland and Norway, otherwise default.

Description

Roger Hodgson had Supertramp leave after ... Famous Last Words ... (1982 ), the seventh studio album by the band, and an extended farewell tour in favor of a solo career, because it and the second tape head Rick Davies no longer have agreed on the genre. Hodgson wanted to continue to make pop and rock music, while Davies wanted to put a stronger emphasis on blues and jazz.

After the separation of the hitherto successful band Hodgson moved back to his nature-loving family life and spent much time with his children. In his studio, the " Unicon studio", but he continued to work. His solo debut album "In the Eye of the Storm " was published in 1984 and found more than two million buyers. Several offers to go on tour, he refused, and remained in his family life.

The musical style present on "In the Eye of the Storm" is often referred to as a progressive art - pop and reminds partly to the Supertramp - style of the 1970s. It sting repeatedly keyboard sounds (especially in " In Jeopardy " and " Give Me Love, Give Me Life" ) and staccato played piano sounds as the main instruments forth, while other instruments, such as the typical Supertramp instruments ( eg, sax ), in the background.
