Takeda Nobutora

Takeda Nobutora (Japanese武田 信 虎; * February 11, 1494, † March 27, 1574 ) was a Japanese daimyo ( feudal lord ) of the Kai Province dominated and fought in a series of battles during the Sengoku period. He belonged to the Sengoku Daimyo who benefited in Japan's feudal period directly from the power loss of the imperial court in Kyoto. He was the father of Takeda Shingen, whose original name is Harunobu, and two other sons, Nobushige and Nobukado.

Life and work

Youth

He was born the eldest son of Takeda Nobutsuna (武田 信 縄) in their residence in Isawa in the midst of Kai Province. They say he was born with bold and sublime. His childhood name was Kawada Gorō (川 田五郎). At 14, he became in 1508 the 18th head of the Takeda of Kai. He succeeded to 1521 to subjugate the majority of families in the province of Kai, and also to conquer the province Rikuzen, Rikuchu province and the province of Mutsu.

Adulthood

Later, the province of Musashi came to the east (now Tokyo and Saitama prefectures ) and the province of Sagami and Suruga Province (now prefectures of Kanagawa and Shizuoka ) was added to the south. He has also expanded its military strength with the influence to the north in the province of Shinano, and in the other neighboring lands. He made the base for the country of his son Takeda Shingen and thus its position as one of the most powerful daimyo. As his heir, he did not, however, his hotheaded eldest son Harunobu (Takeda Shingen ).

Life in exile

In 10 Tenbun 1542, when he was 48 years old, he has gradually Surugawa ( Suruga Province ) to the Imagawa ( clan ) ( a Vasallenklan the Takeda at this time ) withdrawn into a temple and henceforth led a monastic life, under the official pretext to have been banished from Kyoto. However, most historians believe that banished him his hot-blooded son he wanted to disinherit and the power has just taken over.

In his later years he went to the province of Shinano in the castle Takato (高远 城), and when he died at 81 years due to old age from a disease to him until then eluded his homecoming.

Participation in battles

Nobutora fought Hiraga Genshin at the Battle of Un no Kuchi in 1536. He was forced to retreat, but his son Harunobu defeated Hiraga, and took the castle. Nobutora would nevertheless give his succession to his other son Nobushige, and so Harunobu Takeda Shingen fell out with his father and exiled him to Suruga. He died 1574th
