Talisman (Band)

Talisman was a Swedish hard rock band that existed from 1990 to 2007.

History

Talisman was established in 1990 by the bassist Marcel Jacob, who had already played with Rising Force and John Norum Group. As a singer Jeff Scott Soto has been committed. Fredrik Åkesson came in 1992 as the new guitarist for Jason Bieler to who had moved to Saigon Kick. Over the years the band for Frontiers Records recorded seven studio albums, the last of which was simply titled 7. In 2007, the band broke up after the departure Åkessons.

2014, the band will reunite at the Sweden Rock Festival. As Fredrik Åkesson at this time with Opeth on tour, Pontus Norgren will be on guitar, who has already participated on the album Truth and on the album 7. Johan Niemann is also represented Marcel Jacob, who in 2009 took his own life. The concert is a tribute to him because he would have celebrated his 50th birthday in January 2014.
