Tarata Municipality

The municipality Tarata is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

The municipality Tarata is one of four Municipalities of the province of Esteban Arce. It is bordered to the west by the province Capinota, to the south by the department of Potosí, to the southeast by the municipality of Anzaldo, in the east the province of Germán Jordán, and to the north by the municipality of Arbieto.

Geography

The municipality Tarata is in the transition zone between the Andes mountain range, the Cordillera Central and the Bolivian lowlands.
