Tarpan Honker

The Honker is a Polish -terrain vehicle manufacturer DZT Tymińscy that produces the vehicle series since 2009. The series looks back on an eventful history. It has already (after 1988-1996 in Poznań, Lublin ) produced from 1988 to 2007 by various manufacturers. Since 2012 the factory in Lublin was hived off as an independent company Fabryka Samochodów HONKER. Honker is the successor of the FSR Tarpan ( 1973-1994 )

History

Work on the first Polish SUV began in the late 70s at Fabryka Samochodów Rolniczych " Polmo " w Poznaniu. The prototype CI -1 was presented in 1984. It is a 1982 by a military institute in Sulejowek developed from 1988 to 1996 by FSR poses built off-road vehicle of the type Tarpan Honker. The types Tarpan Honker 4012 and 4022 were made ​​from 1988 to 1996 followed by the models 10 beds hardtop and 4022 ( Army vehicle). Under the Daewoo plant in Lublin received an order for two successor models 1997 to 2001. Thereafter, the model under Andoria - Mot and Intrall was further built until 2007. Buyers were various state institutions, especially the army. In addition, a special model was exported as an ambulance in Iraq. Largest private customers KGHM Polska was Miedź (mining and metal extraction ), the transported by car workers underground. 2004 model Honker Skorpion was presented, from which the Polish army 90 cars were delivered for the transport of troops to Iraq in the fall of 2007.

Later, the model followed Honker 4032 ( " Scout ") and the production was moved from Poznan to Lublin and manufactured by Daewoo Motor Poland 1997-2001 as under license. Daewoo designed the interior of the vehicle fundamentally new and took it as a model Honker 2324 on the market. In September 2000, the revised Daewoo Honker followed in 2000 with only cosmetic changes.

After the collapse of Daewoo Motor Poland, the model of Andoria - Mot (2002 to 2003) was continued after Intrall took over production (see Fabryka Samochodów Ciężarowych ). The off-road variant called Honker MAX ( April 2004 since 2005 Intrall Honker ) and the 5-door Honker (2006). There were hardtop models, pickup and pick-up. The gasoline used the engine from the FSO Polonez, the diesel version of the engine from the Iveco (2.5 dm ³) and the models since 1997, the turbo engines Andoria 4CT90 (later 4CTi90 ). The standard versions had three doors and a leaf spring suspension. Buyers were various state institutions, especially the army. In addition, a special model was exported as an ambulance in Iraq. In the spring of 2007, the production was stopped, Intrall was insolvent by the failure of a van.

From November 2008 to January 2009 tried the trustee the rights for the Honker and the production of elements for car and garage doors for sale. Finally, the production of the Honker for a period of one year to the company from Warsaw Igma was - Pojazdy specjalne i opancerzone and DZT Tymińscy awarded. The negotiations on the final sale lasted several months, the award was made for 43 million zloty DZT Tymińscy for all rights to the car brand including assembly shop, paint shop, welding shop, stamping shop, research and development. Among the conditions included, inter alia, further production in Lublin and the freezing of warranty and service for at least 10 years.

In addition to some prototypes for marketing purposes, there are orders from mining companies for use in copper mines. The Polish army has removed 2009 2.466 pieces in different versions and ordered in 2010 a further 60 vehicles.

Current vehicles

Honker was first introduced in 1988 and produced since 1996. Since 2009 from DZT 4 versions available: one for the industry the scorpion, since September 2011, a model for military use, the civilian version Honker 4x4 and pick-up.

The Honker Cargo 2010 was presented as DZT Pasagon. The vehicle is based on the construction of the Intrall Lublin. There are several versions. The serial production began in January 2011. It is intended for the Polish market and for export, mainly to Arab and African countries. Since 2012, the body will be revised under Janusz Kaniewski.
