Tatra T5A5

The Tatra T5A5 was a tram type of Czechoslovak manufacturer Tatra CKD, were produced of which only two prototypes.

Development and use

The first prototype of the T5A5 was the end of 1972 in the wagon factory in Prague- Smichov, which was given the number 8000. The car was also equipped with the classical electrical equipment with Accelerator. However, it was modernized engines. In the years 1974 to 1976 test runs were carried out in must with this car. After these trips, he came back to the factory in Prague, where he received the thyristor control TV1. After the subsequent test drives the electrical equipment was removed to test him in the electrical equipment of the sidecar B6A2 for the GDR. After the tests, the car was scrapped in 1985.

1981, the second prototype was built, as you due to technical alterations not more of them went out to use the first prototype as a model for the production car. The vehicle, which was given the number 0013, was tested only in Prague. It received the thyristor TV3. 1984 0013 converted for sidecar. In 1985, the new vehicle, developed for suburban rapid transit bogies. 1986 tested to the thyristor control TV4. After these tests we turned off the car at CKD. In October 1998, he was employed at the request of the transport companies in Manila together with the RT8M prototypes 0029 and T3 6663 for various crash tests in the main workshop in Prague- Hostivar. The vehicle was scrapped.

To a series production of the vehicles it never came because of intervening technically newer models and variants have been developed.
