Tatra T5B6

The Tatra T5B6 is a tram type of Czechoslovak manufacturer Tatra CKD, were produced of which only two copies. One of the two cars still stands today as a historic railcar for special trips available.

Development and use

According to the ideas of Soviet operations in 1976 two prototypes of the T5B6 were produced. They were tested under the numbers 8009 and 8010 only briefly in Prague and then for a year on the fast tram routes in Most. When testing in Most showed good handling characteristics, but it did not come to mass production, because the USSR did not want to respond to a price increase over the T3SU. The transport department in Most bought the two railcars and gave them the numbers 272 and 273 of the 1996 railcar 273 was worked up as part of the 95 - year anniversary of the tram in Most and stands for special trips as a historic railcar available.
