Tatra T6A2

T6A2 is a type designation for vehicles of the manufacturer CKD Tatra tram in Prague. The T6A2 was built between 1988 and 1999, a total of 256 developed railcars and 92 sidecar (type B6A2 ).

Types

As T6A2D the car was in the German Democratic Republic (from 1990 Federal Republic of Germany ), as T6A2H delivered to Hungary as well as T6A2B to Bulgaria.

T6A2

The T6A2D ( the code letter "D" was awarded only after the commencement of production of T6A2H and T6A2B to distinguish ) is the last of CKD Tatra developed for the GDR type of streetcar. Prototypes T6A2/B6A2

The projects for the prototypes of the type T6A2/B6A2 were confirmed in early 1982 by the Ministry of Transportation. The two built Generous (Tw Tw Bw ) were first tested in 1985 in Prague and then in Dresden. A delivery of production vehicles to the city of Dresden was not, however, the city retained the two prototypes. After 1989 a Großzug for city tours was rebuilt and used. The second Großzug remained in regular service (primarily on the line 3). In 2002, the trains were scrapped. T6A2D

After Leipzig, the first T6A2 arrived on 20 October 1988. It was the. Delivered to the GDR 4000 Tatra cars. In Leipzig he was given the number 1001. Prior to the first test drive the car was repainted in cream white, the following car (Tw 1002 Bw 802) were already wearing the new Leipzig coloring olympia blue / ivory. The vehicles were converted for city tours - they were upholstered seats and carpeted floors. In 1989, followed by other vehicles, the line began operation on 14 February 1990. By early 1991, the vehicles were delivered, then came the turn of the end for the purchase of Tatra cars. Due to the status as a splinter genus began in late 2006 in favor of the older Tatra T4D -M secondment. They were modernized only slightly in their use of time. On 30 November 2007, the adoption of the line service was. The railcars 1001 and the sidecar 801 now belong to the inventory of historic vehicles. In March 2011, all T6A2 were sold to the museum cars 1001 and 801 to an intermediary and scrapped from the end of March.

Berlin received his T6A2 1988-1991. Again, the procurement was abruptly ended by the turn. 1992 began the modernization of T6A2 analogous to KT4D. They were fitted with among other things, new interior and exterior swing doors as well as the " sun yellow " paint job. The cars were adopted according to BVG ( Berlin Transport Services ) due to increased maintenance costs on 6 December 2007 from the service line. This led primarily by the passengers from the south -east of Berlin to protest, because there were the cars, which always drove previously in double traction, replaced by solo vehicle of the type KT4D, which meant that the capacity by 1/3 fell. All trailers were parked in 2002. 32 of the most recently parked Berlin railcars have been sold to Stettin and are used there since 2008.

Magdeburg received his 3 big moves in 1989, another three originally delivered to Schwerin multiple units ( initially red - painted yellow ) followed in 1990. Between 1995 and 1997, all vehicles were extensively modernized and repainted in the new MVB color scheme. The Hungarian city of Szeged initially ordered three railcars for their tram. They fell from 1997 on through her painting. In 1998, the fleet was increased by a further ten railcars.
