Tatyana Zhuk

Tatiana Alekseyevna Shuk (Russian Татьяна Алексеевна Жук; * January 1, 1946 in Leningrad) is a former Russian figure skater, which was launched in pair skating for the Soviet Union.

From 1960 to 1964, her figure skating partner Alexander Gavrilov and 1965-1968 Alexander Gorelik.

With Gavrilov Shuk 1960 Soviet champion in pair skating. In the same year, the pair played his first European Championship and finished it in tenth place. 1963 won Shuk and Gavrilov both at the European Championships as well as at their first World Cup bronze medal, both times behind Marika Kilius and Hans -Jürgen Baumler and their compatriots Lyudmila Belousova and Oleg Protopopov. In the following year, the same result at the European Championships repeated. At the World Cup in 1964 but they could not repeat the result and were sixth. The Olympic Games in Innsbruck, they finished in fifth place.

With Alexander Gorelik Shuk won the bronze medal in 1965 immediately both at the European Championships as well as the World Cup, both times in victories by Belousova and Protopopov. 1966 improved Shuk and Gorelik and were in Bratislava Vice - European Champion and Vice World Champion in Davos behind their compatriots. The same result they achieved in their last appearance at the World Championships in 1968 in Geneva and at the 1968 Olympic Games in Grenoble, where they won the silver medal behind Belousova and Protopopov.

In 1969 Tatyana Zhuk was pregnant. Then she ended her amateur career to the chagrin of Alexander Gorelik.

Tatyana Zhuk is the sister of three-time Vice - European Champion and successful figure skating coach Stanislav Zhuk.
