Taunton Deane

Taunton Deane is a local government district with the status of a borough in the county of Somerset in England. Administrative center is the city of Taunton, lives in more than half of the population. Other important towns are Bishops Hull, Bishops Lydeard, Cheddon Fitzpaine, Comeytrowe, Creech St Michael, Milverton, North Curry, Norton Fitzwarren, Ruishton, Staplegrove, Trull, Wellington, West Monkton and Wiveliscombe.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Borough Taunton, the Wellington Urban District and the Rural Districts Taunton and Wellington.
