Tess Harper

Tess Harper ( born August 15, 1950 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas as Tessie Jean Washam ) is an American actress.

Life

Harper studied at the Arkansas State University, and later she played various roles in the amusement parks. She made her debut in a movie on the side of Cheryl Ladd and Ned Beatty in the television drama uproar among days out of the year 1983. In the film drama comeback of Love ( 1983) she played opposite Robert Duvall one of the major roles. For this role she was nominated in 1984 for a Golden Globe Award. For his role in the film comedy Crimes of the Heart (1986 ), in which she appeared alongside Diane Keaton, Jessica Lange and Sissy Spacek, she was nominated in 1987 for Best Supporting Actress Oscar.

Harper played in the thriller The Jackal (1997 ) the role of First Lady, who tries to kill the killer Jackal ( Bruce Willis ). From 1998 to 2000 she was seen in several episodes of the television series Early Edition. For her role in the short film Lonely Place ( 2004), she won an award in 2004 of the California Method Fest Independent Film Festival.

Harper was married in 1971 to 1976, Ken Harper.
