Teting-sur-Nied

Teting -sur -Nied ( German Tétange ) is a commune located with 1410 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region, about 37 kilometers east of Metz.

The town was first mentioned in 1273 as Tatinga and belongs since 1766 to France. 1871-1918 he was temporarily again to the German Reich.

During the Nazi occupation ( 1940-44 ), the German authorities changed the place names in Tetlingen.

Until 31 December 1947, the official French place name was simply Téting.

The municipality also the south to the village Métring heard ( Metringen ), which was first mentioned as 843 Menturis.
