Thaao Penghlis

Thaao Penghlis (* December 15, 1945 in Sydney) is an Australian actor.

Life

Penghlis was born as the son of Greek immigrants in Sydney. After completing his education, he moved to New York City where he studied acting with Milton Katselas. From the mid- 1970s he had first guest roles in television series such as Cannon, Kojak and Hart to Hart. In 1981, he was cast in the role of Tony DiMera on the soap opera Days of Our Lives, which he intermittently until 2009 played over 350 times, and for which he was nominated for an Emmy in 2008. In the meantime, he starred in the series a dual role as his cousin Andre. Other recurring roles he had in Clan General Hospital and California.

Better known in the German speaking he gained through his portrayal of Nicholas Black in the new edition of Kobra, you assume 1988.
