The Advent

The Advent is the pseudonym of Cisco Ferreira, a British musician, DJ and live act of the electronic music scene. Ferreira founded the project in 1993 with British producer Colin McBean. Particularly well known is The Advent for his releases on the German label Tresor Records and their own label combination Research.

History

After leaving school Ferreira began as a sound engineer at Jack Trax Records to work, where he worked among others with Marshall Jefferson and Derrick May in the productions.

In 1988, he took along with CJ Bolland under the pseudonym Space Opera on some tracks that have been released by the Belgian label R & S Records. A year later, he participated for the first time under his own name on a plate. Why ( Do not You Answer? ) Appeared on the label fragile. In the same year he met at the event Bang the Party 's later production partner Colin McBean know that with Keith Franklin, the DJ team KCC was formed at that time. Shortly thereafter, they together formed a DJ team, which existed until 1993. With the joint production they started back in 1990 when she co on the album of the American artist Fade to Black (Jay Denham ). In 1993 she went on to found the project The Advent, under which they released a year later their first records. In the next two years, they released their productions exclusively on this label.

In 1995, her first studio album Elements Of Life was released on the same label. Their second album, New Beginnings was followed a year later. After a dispute between producers and label managers they left Internal and founded her own label combination Research on which in 2000 released their third album. In addition, they also released on Tresor Records and other labels.

Took place since 1999 Colin MC Bean the project because he could no longer handle the stress tour according to their own statements. MC Bean occurs since then as a solo artist and as a DJ. From then on Cisco Ferreira alone produced under the pseudonym The Advent and released on Tresor Records several LPs and 2002 the double CD Sketched for Life.

Ferreira produced since then under the name of G. Flame more dancefloor - oriented music. After that he published with his former partner under the name G. Flame & Mr. G dancefloor music that had little in common with the publications as The Advent. Under the old name brings Cisco Ferreira since the separation still further new releases out.

As a live act Ferreira has performed at international events such as Mayday, Love Parade, I Love Techno, sun moon and stars, Melt, Timewarp, Nature One and Sensation White.
