The First Japan Arena Tour (Girls' Generation)

The Arena Tour 2011 is the first tour of Japan in the South Korean pop group Girls' Generation. It began on May 31, 2011 in Osaka and ended on July 18, 2011 in Fukuoka.

Overview

On March 7, 2011, the start of the Japan tour of Girls' Generation for May 18 has been announced in the four cities of Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. However, the Tournebeginn has been moved to May 31 due to the Tōhoku earthquake. Due to the high demand for tickets of more than 300,000 people four additional concerts were added to the tour schedule.

One day after tour beginning on June 1, released their first Japanese album, Girls' Generation, that was presented at the tour.

Various Japanese television station reported extensively on the tour. In particular, Mezamashi TV provided detailed reports on the tour start. NHK showed on June 9, a special on Girls' Generation with some concert clips.

Overall, the tour had 140,000 visitors. According to the website metroseoul.co.kr the group earned through the tour a turnover of at least 200 billion won (equivalent to € 132,033,570, as of 22 July 2011).
