The Flood Inside is the fourth studio album by the German Postrock-/Post-Metal-Band Long Distance Calling. It was published on 1 March 2013 Superball Music.

Formation

In April 2012 the band announced the amicable separation of Reimut van Bonn, who was previously responsible for the Ambience. A short time later, the musicians started to work on her fourth studio album. Here the musicians noticed that many of the ideas are also suitable for singing. In summer 2012 the band therefore contacted the singer Martin Fischer, who was previously in the bands Fear My Thoughts and Pigeon Toe active was or still is.

The shooting began on September 17, 2012 in the Megaphone Recording Studios in Arnsberg and lasted until October 12. Was produced, mixed and mastered by Martin The Flood Inside My Shepherd. The choice fell on him, as the musicians love my shepherd studio for the organic and spatial sound. In addition, the studio has numerous old microphones and amplifiers.

For the album, the band invited a number of guest musicians. For the song nucleus of the blues musician Henrik Freischlader contributed a guitar solo. In Welcome Change can be heard Petter Carlsen as a guest vocalist Vincent Cavanagh of Anathema the band as well. For the song Waves composed DJ Cool man, a former member of the hip - hop band five star deluxe an intro.

Publication

In addition to the regular CD version until February 14, 2013 five additional versions were available through the webshop of the band. All of these versions contained the bonus song Black Hole. In the other versions it was the limited edition CD version and an LP version with CD, with or without an exclusive t-shirt and an exclusive poster. The fifth version containing both the CD and the LP version with t-shirt and poster. For the song Tell the end a music video was filmed.

Background

The band described the album's title as a reflection of the emotional bandwidth of the technical life. Guitarist David Jordan said in an interview that for him "means absolute chaos with an unclear outcome ," the album.
