About the Album

The Private Press was like its predecessor, produced only with the help of samples. The only exceptions are recorded for Mashin 'on the Motorway votes, the main of them is the rapper Lateef the Truth Speaker.

The pieces Mashin 'on the Motorway and Walkie Talkie were released together as a double A-side. Also animated music videos were filmed for both songs. Another video was shot by director Wong Kar- Wai to the song Six Days. Actor of the video are Chang Chen and Danielle Graham, as a cameraman Christopher Doyle drew responsible.

The song Blood on the Motorway was used in a television commercial for O2 2003. The song Six Days is selected as the intro to Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift.

Reviews

The critical review of The Private Press was mostly positive. The Metascore the album is 81 out of 100.

The cultural magazine Intro sees the work is a departure from the sound and the homogeneity of the pieces of Endtroducing ..... and thinks, one must for the album " take time " it " more often hear " and " soak up " to appreciate it.

The Private Repress

In 2003, the album The Private Repress was released exclusively in Japan. It consists of remixes and B-sides. Five of the pieces were already included on the single Mashin 'on the Motorway / Walkie Talkie.
