The Ridgeway

The Ridgeway, English for ridge and path is a Altstrasse in southern England. The road extends over a length of 135 km, starts at Overton Hill ( Wiltshire ) in the west and ends at Ivinghoe Beacon ( Buckinghamshire ) in the east.

Today the route is designated as The Ridgeway National Trail. Along this route there are a number of attractions from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age, including Grim's Ditch and Liddington Castle and the Uffington White Horse and Uffington Castle. 5000 years ago, The Ridgeway could have been a part of a route that led from the Dorset coast to The Wash in Norfolk.
