The Secret of the Sahara is a six-part adventure series from 1987 and is a joint production of Italy, France, Spain, Germany and the USA. The first broadcast took place in Germany in January 1989 by the ZDF.

Action
In the Hoggar Mountains of the Sahara is the secretive Talking Mountain. This hides a thousand-year- old mystery that will be treasured by the desert ruler Anthea and her red riders. No one may solve the mystery of who it is attempted, is worthy of death. The American geologist Desmond Jordan, however, can not be deterred and sets off in search of the " speaking mountain". On his quest he encounters the war Lieutenant Ryker, which he brought to the range of years earlier. Ryker takes Jordan caught and wants revenge on him. Even the Caliph of Timbuktu is interested in the mystery of the mountain. He suspects a fabulous treasure and sent his army to find him. But Anthea and her people know how to defend themselves with mystical powers.
