The Underfall Yard is the sixth studio album by the English retro prog band Big Big Train. It was released on December 15, 2009.

Content

The lyrics of the songs deal with stories and folk tales from England, especially from the Victorian era and the Edwardian era. In the song Winchester Diver example the performance of the diver William Walker in saving the Winchester Cathedral sung. In the center, however, is the 22 -minute title track, which has the rail and port engineering of the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel on the topic.

Style

Musically, the band influenced by the Genesis and Yes retro prog remains faithful to this album, processed but also post-rock influences.

Reviews

The album received largely positive reviews. With the Internet Radio " Aural Moon" was The Undertones case Yard album of 2009, and also in the " Progressive Area" prog-rock side.
