The Winslow Boy (1948 film)

The Winslow Boy is a British film director Anthony Asquith drama of from the year 1948. The screenplay is based on the eponymous stage play of screenwriter Terence Rattigan from 1946 and had a true story in 1912 as the basis. The premiere took place in Germany on 20 October 1949.

Action

The 13 -year-old Ronnie Winslow is Cadet at housed one of Osborne House Royal Naval College. He is accused of stealing a postal order to a comrade. The investigation committee that can get no chance to defend the boy, is he guilty. His father, Arthur Winslow, a banker, is to take his son from college. Winslow father can not accept the suspicion and judgment. With his daughter Catherine, he represents himself to research, helps his friend and lawyer Desmond Curry. Curry discusses at once with the best criminal defense lawyer of England, Sir Robert Morton, the case should go to trial.

The British government has no interest in a process that would involve the public. However, after heated debates in the House of the government are after - the case comes to court. Sir Morton, the incriminating evidence defuse the government pulls the judgment against Ronnie back.
