The Yards - In the backyard of power is an American film drama directed by James Gray from the year 2000.

Action

The cars of the New York subway to wait at a plant in Queens. The contracts are awarded in a system of corruption, in which Frank Olchin pulling the strings. Sometimes the works of the competitors will be sabotaged.

Leo Handler sat innocently in prison. After his release, he worked for Olchin who married his aunt Kitty. Willie Gutierrez helps him.

Handler is the murder of an employee of the subway and the assault of a police officer suspects, though he did not. He flees and fights against the corruption network.

  • Desson Howe wrote in the Washington Post that the director had lost the fight against the stupid script. The film acts like the pilot episode of a TV series.
