It is located 45 km north- west of the city Thanh Hóa on the National Road 47 QL (abbr. for Vietn. Quoc Lo 47) in the district of the province of Thanh Xuân Thọ Hóa region Bắc Trung bo. The length of the take-off and landing runway is 3200 m, width 45 m. It is planned to expand the airport by 2013 so that it can be used more for civil flights, and complements the capabilities of the Noi Bai International Airport 180 km from the capital Hanoi.
