Thomas Andrew Donnellan

Thomas Andrew Donnellan ( born January 24, 1914 in New York City, USA, † October 15, 1987 in Atlanta ) was Archbishop of Atlanta.

Life

Thomas Andrew Donnellan received on 3 June 1939, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On February 28, 1964 Pope Paul VI appointed him. Bishop of Amarillo. The Archbishop of New York, Francis Cardinal Spellman, donated to him on April 9 of the same year in New York's St. Patrick's Cathedral, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Springfield, Christopher Joseph Weldon, and the Auxiliary Bishop of New York, John Joseph Maguire. On April 13, 1964, the inauguration took place.

On May 24, 1968, he was named Paul VI. Archbishop of Atlanta. The official launch took place on July 16 of the same year. The office he held for 19 years until he suffered a stroke in May 1987, which left him in consequence depart this life in October of the same year.
