Thomaskantor

The cantor of St. Thomas is the artistic director of the Thomas choir in Leipzig. He is appointed by the city council of Leipzig.

The cantor is responsible today the implementation of the weekly motets and the musical accompaniment of worship in Leipzig St. Thomas Church. Previously went his duties at the St. Thomas School still far beyond the realm of music out, so had to teach Bach, for example, Latin.
