Tillo ( 1964-2013 Aydınlar ) is a town and a district in Turkey. It belongs to the province of Siirt and is located in Southeastern Anatolia. Tillo is located in the center of the province and is 69 km ² whose smallest county. The county has 3,876 inhabitants Tillo, the city only 1,832 (as of 2012). The city's name is Tillo Semitic (Arabic or Aramaic ) and means something like Holy Ghost and probably refers to the many shrines in Tillo. In 1964, the city was renamed in Aydınlar what mutatis mutandis means the educated. After a change in the law in 2013 places could apply for their former indigenous name. By decision was published in November 2013 Tillo again officially name the city.

In the city of Tillo and three of six villages ( Çatılı Dereyamaç and İkizbağlar ) of the district ( Qeltu dialect of Iraqi Arabic), in the remaining three ( Çınarlısu, Taşbalta and Akyayla ) Kurdish is spoken in the Arabic rule.

Administration and Geography

The city Tillo consists of three districts ( Mahalle ), while the district six villages ( Koy ) and four hamlets ( Mezra ) belong. The city is located 9 km from Siirt away and the terrain of the county is mountainous. To the east of Botan, who is here dammed at Alkumrustaudamm by Tillo winds. The soil is calcareous and not necessarily suitable for agriculture, as well as includes the groundwater rich in calcium and other salt compounds. When vegetation steppe flora prevails, small forests are isolated cases.
