Tilly Fleischer

Othilie ( " Tilly " ) Fleischer, married Heuser, in second marriage Grote - Fleischer ( born October 2, 1911 in Frankfurt am Main, † 14 July 2005 in Lahr / Schwarzwald), was a German athlete who had been 1936 Olympic champion in the javelin.

Sporting successes

She participated in the Olympic Games in 1932 and 1936, in part as a javelin, discus and in the 4 x 100 - meter relay.

Biography

Tilly Fleischer was the daughter of a butcher. She began as a ten- year-old with the sport and was successful early in their sporting career in tennis as Frankfurt champion and handball as German Champion ( Eintracht Frankfurt). As an athlete, she started also for Eintracht Frankfurt. Following the 1936 Olympic Games she finished her sporting career. After the Second World War, it was the owner of two leather goods shops, in Lahr / Black Forest and Kehl. She was the mother of two daughters ( from his first marriage ). Tilly Fleischer had a competition weight of 66 kg at a height of 1.68 m.
